Our week at the MTC was fantastic...it is amazing how many great people are here, putting aside their normal lives in order to go to such places as Cambodia, Ohio, Marshall Islands, Phillippines, and, YES, even HONOLULU!!!! I would have had no problem packing for that mission (I know exactly what to expect there!).
We loved everything about our experience - the lessons, the teachers, the surroundings, and even the food! Now, our lives are packed into 6 pieces of luggage, filled with much anti-mosquito and tummy sickness drugs and gear, and sunscreen.
This afternoon we fly from SLC to LAX, to Heathrow, then finally to Entebbe, Uganda. We will be there at 7:30 am on Monday, May 5th - Happy Cinco de Mayo, Elder Clay!
We've been promised electricity and internet, so look for more pics and info after we get settled in our new home. We are anxious to learn where we will be, and what we will be doing!
Remember to write to our other missionary, Elder Clay Wilkes.
Happily, his mission president's wife arranged for an early Mother's Day phone call, so we got to talk with him this morning. Everything is perfecto for him!

how exciting! good luck!
I'm so glad that you were able to have an early mom's day chat with Clay! Uganda is lucky to have you both...we miss you!
Wow, that was fast! I hope you have a smooth trip and that those "tummy sickness" drugs are unnecessary.
So glad to hear that you arrived safely! Can't wait for you to post some pictures so we can see you new place! Have fun and be safe!
