We attended District Development Meeting at Makindye chapel with the Elders today. This was our first “DDM”, and the elders asked us to share our testimony about a time which involved the Book of Mormon, as that was the topic of the day. I bore my testimony about receiving my first paperback edition from the missionaries in Davis, California, and then the very special leather-bound set that Brad gave me as a Christmas present that same year – 1977.
After the training session, the 4 elders and the trainers, Elder Ray and Elder Wright showed us an Ethiopian restaurant they like on Entebbe Road, where they ordered enjeras for all. Enjera is fermented rice batter that is cooked as a large “pancake”. It is dipped into a bowl of sauce/soup, and eaten with the hands. I tried portions of mine, but mainly enjoyed my cold Orange Fanta!

Me, pretending that I love enjera – really, I love ice cold Orange Fanta!

Elder Ndobi Nzuzzi, from the Congo DR, doesn’t pretend that he likes it – he does!
