Brad with twins, Kato and Babirye. Kato sat on his lap throughout the entire event...Brad used to want to adopt a little girl from China, now he is focusing on twins from Africa!
We accompanied the rest of the senior couples to a Hand Over near Entebbe a couple of weeks ago, where we met these and other darling children. The church provided funds to purchase sewing machines, wood-working tools, paint, blackboards, and desks to a small community school for primary-aged children.
A marching band met us, and our column of identical Nissan Hardbody trucks followed them for 2 kilometers to the school. People came out of their homes, and children clung to the fences in front of their schools to wave and enjoy the big event! We felt like we were in the most important parade in the world!
Of course, the local cows wanted to be entrants in the parade, and joined in just how they pleased! (An everyday occurence - every village - every street!)
I had to keep an eye on the other senior sisters...I think they wanted to take home a couple of cute kids, just like Brad!
Elder Wilkes was trying to teach all his fancy dance moves to one of the adventurous boys...you know him - always wanting to dance, dance, dance! So exhausting trying to keep up with him!
