Halloween In Uganda!

Mom and Dad sent us the most AWESOME package...Halloween masks (creepy), Halloween plate, Halloween lights, Pez, TUMS, and candy corn, and (my personal favorite) two pounds of our favorite See's candy...California Brittle, Scotchmallows, and Chocolate-covered almonds.

We took the loot and scared and then shared with the young single adults for Family Home Evening. First, we had to explain the meaning of Halloween, and then we passed around the candy corn...(no, we're not that charitable...we kept the See's at home!)

Karen,
We missed you this Halloween! I sent Clay a package last week and told him that I miss those days when we used to roam around your neighborhood (the Harry Potter haunted house was the best!), then Weddington and if the kids were brave they would try to sneak into Wexford because the rumor was that they gave out big candy bars! Ha! Ha! The good ole days!

So one of Tyler's friend's girlfriend just got her mission call to Clay's mission~DC South, Spanish speaking! Crazy, huh!? I'll have to send him an email. When Allie found out she said, "Dani is gonna love Clay!! I'm kind of jealous of her!" Cute!

Allysa is getting baptized at Christmas time. She and Allie hang out a bunch! For Halloween they made fairy costumes for everyone in Allie's apartment. I'll try to get some pics and post them.

Everyone in the Holt household is doing good. Brooke won league and has sections this Saturday. Ashley is in the school play this week and then a solo in the Stake Musical next week. Allie loves the nursing program and her roommates, having lots of fun and very social. Tyler is working hard at school and football and having fun with Allie. Kimber and Brett are super busy! She just spoke at Stake Conference yesterday and today is busy planning Thanksgiving dinner for 20-30 people in her ward who don't have anywhere to go for the holiday. Crazy but loving their busy lives in NYC!

We are anxious to hear about your adventures in Ethiopia! You guys are going to do a great job there!

I heard from David and hope to see him at Thanksgiving time. He said that he is coming home. I feel like I haven't talked to him forever!

I better go! Love and miss you guys lots!!

The YSA group must have thought we were crazy when you explained Halloween to them! I suppose we are a little nuts now that I think about it.

Grace is IN LOVE with her red wagon! I promise to post pictures soon.

I'm so happy to see that all is well with the Wilkes' in Uganda. I can't imagine it will be easy for you or them when you have to leave for Ethiopia. So many fun new adventures ahead of you.

I try to be very diligent taking pictures, using the video camera, and journaling about little Grace. I hate to think that you are missing even a moment. So don't worry, I plan to fill you in on every detail immediately upon your return!

Love you,
Jenny
